ONE Summit 2022

The DoD requires state of the art networks and communications that can adapt to the diverse environments in which it operates. 5G and evolving future generation networking technologies provide the foundational building blocks upon which the DoD can develop differentiated service and advanced military communications. The DARPA Open Programmable Accelerated - 5G (OPA-5G) program is driving the development of free and open source software (FOSS) for the radio access network (RAN) and establishing this OSS as a baseline 5G waveform that will be made widely available to the DoD. The goal of this effort is to enable public private partnership to develop capabilities from a common foundational open source code base. This talk will provide an overview of the OPA-5G program and vision for how a public/private partnership built on OSS as a framework can foster innovation within the 5G/Future G ecosystem.
