Network convergence has the power to change the way we play. In this presentation, we will explore how wireless/wireline convergence impacts cloud gaming and cloud VR. Exposing a single API endpoint based on 3GPP, ETSI MEC, Camara and other standards for application developers to launch an application on a service provider edge compute platform has the ability to specify and monitor the quality of service across multiple networks. Instead of needing a high-end computer to play a single game, you could run it on the edge with a service provider, who can in turn prioritize traffic and provide lower latency minimizing lag time in the game. Rather than relying on a public cloud with no insight into the network, this convergence will offer a single API endpoint where developers can launch an application on a service provider edge compute platform with the ability to specify and monitor the quality of service across multiple networks. It works by using a border network gateway BNG to manage a variety of access networks at a single point. Join us to learn more about how we are changing gaming for the better!
