Quickly replace equipment on the factory floor without dispatching IT staff. Local, non-technical persons can unplug and remove old equipment (w/GPU), and pull new hardware from storage while remote administrators simultaneously configure new equipment purpose and profile (without GPU), at the same time, the machine is being walked to its desired location. By plugging in power (and network if hard-wired), the machine will automatically connect, download configuration and software, and be up and running in a matter of minutes. This approach saves time and money and uses off-the-shelf solutions. What makes this possible? In this session, we will discuss how these and similar industrial scenarios could be handled with enterprise-grade edge solutions based on hardened open-source projects
